It Takes a Village
Tacos, nachos, pulled pork sliders, BBQ chicken, gourmet cupcakes, snow cones and the famous cheesy potatoes were some of the delectable choices that Londonderry Village, with the help of Morrison Senior Living, provided to their employees today. This was one of the many ways The Village has thanked their staff for all their dedicated and hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last 4 months at Londonderry Village have been interesting, to say the least. Just like the rest of the world, COVID-19 changed the entire way Londonderry Village operated. Our employees rose to the occasion to pitch in wherever help was needed! Staff performed duties outside their normal job responsibilities, working overtime hours to make sure we were doing everything possible to keep the virus off our campus and keep our elders safe. So far this has been a success!
Today, management hosted a big summer luncheon for employees to enjoy. Department heads and other members of management worked to serve the employees an array of delicious food. All staff remained masked, except when sitting at the socially distanced outdoor tables, which were sanitized after each use. Laughing could be heard as employees ate their burgers and hot dogs, being grilled to perfection by our President, Jeff Shireman, or enjoying their ice cream treat distributed by our Director of Resident Services, Mary Lee Harpel. The weather was gorgeous – mid 80’s, no humidity and breezy. It was a nice escape for our employees to relax, indulge and take a break from their normal busy days working around our campus. Full bellies and fun were had by all. Special thanks for this wonderful event. A big thank you to our staff for all you do. It truly takes a village.
