April 17 Lunch N Learn: Ryan the Bug Man

Ryan is an expert in entomology outreach and was honored as the York County Environmental Educator of the Year in 2017. With a passion for sharing the wonders of the insect world, Ryan presented programs for the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educators in 2019 and 2020. His extensive insect collection, featuring over 150,000 specimens, is a testament to years of global expeditions and dedication to the field. Committed to education and conservation, Ryan frequently donates specimens to institutions like Drexel Academy in Philadelphia and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Join Ryan to get an up-close look at his insect collection, featuring over 150,000 specimens. Ryan will share about the origins, behaviors, and ecological roles of different bugs. Guests will also have the chance to pet or hold harmless live insects. A Q&A session will give the audience an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the fascinating world of insects.

Attendees must RSVP to attend. If you plan to purchase a lunch through our organization, you must order by April 10th through the form linked below. You will use the same link below to RSVP.

Each boxed lunch includes a sandwich of your choice, chips, pickle, cookie, and a drink for $8.00. You may choose to bring your own lunch or simply attend to hear the speaker.

Lunch N Learn presentations are held in our Snell Community Center inside our Fellowship Hall. When you enter through the main road, you will follow the road straight until you see a sign that says Snell Community Center. Parking is free and will be available. Volunteers will be available to show you the way to the registration table and where to pick up your lunch if you purchased one. Registration is at 11:30am. Presentation will start promptly at 12:00pm. Attendees will find theirs seats at a table to watch the presentation.
